Life sure has been busy the last few weeks, heck even months. It started with my 8 year old niece coming to visit us for the summer. She's splitting summer vacation between my parents and us. My parents had her for the first two weeks she was here, and we've got her for two weeks. Its already been one week and its been a busy week. Chris had to work late all last week because they had an employee from one of thier other plants comes to the headquarters to work on some important projects, which of course dh is involved in. Then this past friday DH's brother Mike came home for a visit and brought three of his friends. Aunt Dawn was also in town visitings too! So there was lots of family time over the weekend. Not only did we have a lot of family time together with brother Mike and Aunt Dawn but also threw my sister in law Becky a suprised party on saturday in honor of getting her masters degree. Becky thought that it was just a small party for family to get to see Mike while he was home for the weekend. Ha! She was defintely suprised to find out the party was really for her! She loved it! Sunday we had an other party, a high school graduation party for DH's cousing Randee. We were all pooped out by sunday night and all three of us crashed hard when we went hit our pillows! Hopefully this week will be a little more calm and not so busy. It certainly would be a nice change of pace.
Go out to my little trach buddies that are hopefully being decannulated this week. I'm part of a message forum for families with child who have tracheostomy. This is the time of year that alot of children have thier trachs removed. Some have to have a surgery called an LTP. This week, two little guys,
Parkerand
Colinboth had this surgery to get thier trachs removed. And both Are recoving in ICU from the surgery trach free. I'm so excited for them, for all the things they will get to experince with out the trach, such as being able to take a real bath and go swimming. So please when you say your prayers please include Parker and Colin and thier familes.
I'm sitting here yawning as I type this. Today was a lazy sunday, we did nothing but lounge around our apartment watching tv, playing with the cat and just enjoying time with each other. It was a great ending to somewhat busy weekend. Hubby and I went out to the bar last night(saturday night), the first time in a long time. We met up with 3 of our friends to shot pool, and throw darts for a few hours. All 5 us ending up coming back to our apartment and playing poker. There defintely wasn't a dull moment, we had a great time. I think we should try to get together more every once in a blue moon, but its hard being we all have busy lives. And I've realized I'm not as young as I used to be, and I can't handle staying up till 4am anymore. Hence why we had a lazy sunday today, neither one of us had much energy to do anything else. But hey you gotta live life and have fun once in awhile.
This coming week will be a busy week, I have alot to get done, and will be going to visit my parents for a couple days. Not to mention a dumb ole doctors appointment. No, I'm not sick, its just a check-up or as I like to call it a time-waster visit. Now I'm off to bed!
Sometimes I really hate having a chronic disease. The part I hate about it is all the crap I have deal with pertaining to insurance and medical supplies. Four months later I am still having to deal with Sparrow ...and the kicker is I am not longer getting supplies from them but I am still getting statements that I owe them money. I'm pretty
positiveI don't. Its likely
theirbilling department is screwed up the billing codes..again! So I've been on the phone playing tag, trying to get to the right person at Sparrow to get it straightened out. Ugh!
Of course my new medical supply company is driving me nuts as well. I put in my month order for supplies, and they refused to sent them till they had
theirco-pay. Its really sad to realize that
companiesare all about money and not helping people,
especiallywhen that company is part of the medical industry and
theirjob is suppose to be to help people live life. They are obviously not doing that when they will actually withhold life saving devices and medical supplies from the patient till they get
theirdang money! After we dished out the money for the co-pay they finally sent me my supplies a week and half after I ordered them! Anyway that is my rant for the day. I just had to get it out of my system!
